Three arrested for robbery first degree

September 04 2024

Auburn, Ala. - On Sept. 3, 2024, Auburn Police, with assistance from the Opelika Police Department, arrested Arquavious Oneal Finley, age 20, Khamani Martrez Key, age 19, both from Auburn, Alabama, and a 16-year-old juvenile, from Opelika, Alabama, charging each with robbery first degree.

The arrest stems from Auburn Police receiving a report of a robbery on Sept. 2. Officers met with a victim who reported that on Sept. 2, three suspects threatened the victim with a firearm and demanded property. The incident occurred near the 1000 block of Old Mill Road.

Auburn Police communicated with Opelika Police Department officers in reference to similar crimes committed in Opelika. Detectives from both agencies collaborated in a joint investigation, and Arquavious Oneal Finley, Khamani Martrez Key and a 16-year-old juvenile were developed as suspects.

Opelika Police performed a traffic stop on a vehicle occupied by the suspects on Sept. 3, and after further investigation, Finley, Key and the 16-year-old juvenile were charged with robbery first degree associated with incidents that occurred in both Auburn and Opelika.

Finley, Key, and the 16-year-old juvenile were transported to the Lee County Jail and held without bond pending further judicial review.
